Ngozi Osuagwu, MD, FACOG, RYT, CS
Dr. Ngozi Osuagwu is passionate advocate for eliminating health disparities among women from diverse minority populations. As a champion of women’s health initiatives, an award-winning author and an inspiring keynote speaker, she uses any means necessary to promote preventive health care and share practical tips with women of all ages about sustaining a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Ngozi Osuagwu is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Integrative and Holistic Medicine, as well as a NAMS-Certified Menopause Practitioner. She attended The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and received her medical training at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Osuagwu then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, an affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Osuagwu is the Clinical Director of the Women’s Health Center at Doctors Hospital and a Clinical Professor at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Inspiring Keynote Speaker
Dr. Ngozi Osuagwu has traveled around the nation sharing her inspiring message, “My Sisters: Stay Alive and Healthy,” which brings to light the health disparities among women from diverse minority populations and provides practical tips for living a healthier life.
She is a much sought-after speaker on the topics of preventive care and integrative medicine. She has given keynote speeches, numerous lectures and led many workshops on different aspects of health, especially in the area of women’s health. She also likes to spread the gospel of preventive health and comprehensive health education, and she is very comfortable speaking to healthcare professionals, adults, teenagers or mixed groups.
Dr. Osuagwu has led health workshops at conferences hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) sorority, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, etc. She has been interviewed by members of both the electronic and print media and has been featured in publications including Essence and The Wall Street Journal. Among those who have interviewed her are Kathy Davis of WBAI, Wendy Williams of WBLS, Linord Moudou of Voice of America TV and Joe Madison of WOLB. She was a guest columnist in the Columbus Post, where she wrote about current health issues.
A happily married mother of three children, she resides in Central Ohio with her family. She enjoys playing Scrabble™, dancing, reading and practicing yoga.
Award-winning Author
Dr. Ngozi Osuagwu is the award-winning author of the book Letters to My Sisters: Plain Truths and Straightforward Advice from a Gynecologist (2006 Ben Bosah Books).
This was translated to Spanish with the title Cartas a Mis Hermanas. With Dr. Nathan Thagana, she penned a companion book for women in Africa titled Letters to Our Sisters: Practical Health Advice for Women.
Dr. Osuagwu also completed a handbook for medical students doing their rotations in Obstetrics and Gynecology titled Handbook of Clinical Examinations in an Obstetrics and Gynecology Ambulatory Setting. She recently released her latest book, Sincerely, Your Gynecologist (2022 Ben Bosah Books), available now on Amazon.
