Happy Easter
by Ngozi Osuagwu, MD | April 4th, 2021

This past weekend I received several text messages wishing me a Happy Easter and it prompted me to spend the weekend thinking about what it really meant to wish someone Happy Easter. What does it mean today with all that is happening in the world. It drew me to one of my favorite prayers which was written by Francis of Assisi:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love with all my soul.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
Happy Easter!
FYI: April 7th is World Health Day. World Health Day marks the anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO) which was founded in 1948. The theme this year is Building a Fairer, Healthier World. WHO is committed to ensuring that everyone, everywhere, can realize the right to good health. This website shares the same commitment.
