A Gift of Time

Still looking for that perfect gift for someone that has everything or maybe this was just a difficult year and you cannot afford to buy anything or maybe you are too stressed , you cannot think of anything to do, consider the following:
- A gift of time
Give your friend who has children a break and offer to babysit the children. She can use that time to run errands or sleep. Offer to help a friend organize her house or clean her car. Offer to drive a friend who does not own a car. Teach an elderly person how to use a computer to send email or how to use their phone to text. We each have talents that we can share with someone. Our time is valuable and when you offer your time to a friend, it is priceless.
- Write a letter
With everyone texting or sending emails, it is truly appreciated to get a letter in the mail. Consider writing a letter to someone that you have not spoken to in a while. You can use that opportunity to thank them and tell them what made them special.
- A box of positive quotes
You can write down some positive quotes on some paper (have 52 of them) and put it in a box or a jar and then the person can pick one out each week. What a wonderful way to start the week.
- Movie night
Take out a movie from the library (if it is a recent movie, you might have to reserve it way in advance) and host a movie night. Make your own popcorn and invite some friends.
- Make breakfast for the family
It does not have to be very elaborate. Just tell a friend that breakfast is on you. Make oatmeal, boil some eggs and make a smoothie – voila – breakfast on you.
The list is endless. Be creative.
Remember this is the time of the year to enjoy your family, friends and colleagues. Spend some time meditating on what matters.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
